Miracle Menu

Miracle Menu campaigns are low level of logistical effort campaigns that can have a high impact on your local member CMN Hospital. These campaigns can run year round at your property, or can be for a specific length of time. You can also opt to participate in one menu item… or all! Below are the ways you can fundraise through a Miracle Menu item.

    • Breakfast Buffet, Specialty Drink, Pancakes, Omelet, etc. Any F&B item can be a Miracle Item!

How to Fundraise:

  • Please inform your AVP that you wish to participate in the campaign. Once approved by your AVP, inform your ownership that you wish to participate in the campaign.
  • Submit your intent to participate in this campaign through the campaign enrollment form on this website.
  • As in previous years, our guidance remains the same – Hotels should not position this campaign as an optional guest donation (verbally, in print, on flyers, or menus, etc.) – either one where guests can remove a dollar from their bill (“Opt Out”), or one where the guest is asked if they want to participate by allowing a dollar to be added to their bill (“Opt In”). Participating hotels are simply exercising their right to increase the price of an item and this is noted on the menu with appropriate CMN TAG. This identifier ‘Tag’ should be adjacent to the item and a note should be added at the bottom of the menu stating, “We are proudly supporting Children’s Miracle Network (Hospitals) with a $1.00 donation with every [breakfast buffet, pancake meal, burger, entrée, etc.] sold.”
  • (Feel free to call it “Miracle [Breakfast, Burger, etc.] on your menu).
  • At period end, run the micros menu item sales by outlet report. The item (i.e., breakfast buffet) should be identified and the menu count multiplied by $1.00. Make a journal entry reducing the outlet’s sales by this amount. This protects owners from paying a 3% management fee on donations. When tax is submitted, tax must be paid on the full menu price (inclusive of the $1.00 donation).
  • If participating for the entire year, we ask that you submit funds to CMN Hospitals quarterly. If participating for a specific length of time, we ask you submit funds at the end of your campaign.
Pepsi Campaign

Through the support of our great partners at Pepsi, this campaign runs from June 1st to August 31st and is designed to minimize operational impact while providing strong product appeal to your guests. All Marriott managed and franchise hotels are encouraged to participate in this campaign through featuring the Pepsi products promotion anywhere bottled beverages are sold in your hotels.

How to Fundraise:

  • All Marriott managed hotels will be shipped a marketing kit directly in mid-May. The cutoff for opting into the Pepsi Campaign to receive a kit will be Friday, May 24th.
  • Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals will receive a portion of proceeds from every sale of these products. Your hotel’s contributions to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals will be produced by incremental re-pricing products by a suggested $.25 during the campaign.
  • At the end of the campaign, run a report on Pepsi products sold (either only the featured promotion products or all products in your cooler) multiply sales by $.25 and submit these funds for donation to CMN Hospitals.
Root Beer Float Day

Celebrate Marriott’s history by hosting a Root Beer Float day for your associates and guests. National Root Beer Float Day is August 6th, 2024. You are welcome to host your event anytime the week before or after, whatever works best for your property. This event requires a low level of logistical effort and can be a meaningful engagement point with your guests and your local member CMN Hospital.

How to Fundraise:

  • Set a date for your event and let your hospital know you’re hosting a RBFD activation by filling out the campaign enrollment form on the homepage of this site.
  • Download materials to advertise your event at your property through the campaign assets folder.
  • Set a specific price for the Root Beer Float or if you do not want to set a price, leave the donation as an open amount (we see higher donations this way).
Bonvoy Points Donation

Use Your Points to Do Good. The donated Marriott Bonvoy points from guests will be converted to cash in the equivalents listed on the https://giving.marriott.com/ site. The cash donation will in turn be donated to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Donations are made on a quarterly basis to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

How to Fundraise:

  • Inform your ownership that you will participate in the promotion
  • Post the approved / provided marketing poster / flyer (found in the Campaign Assets link)
    • Poster: color print on large, foam core
    • Flyer: color print and place in frame
  • Display to Marriott Bonvoy Members
    • Suggestions: Poster on an easel in the M Club, Flyer in a frame at the front desk stations or lobbies to encourage our guest to donate their points to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Guests can scan the QR code on the poster which will direct them to the site where they can donate their points or guests can visit this link: Marriott Bonvoy Charity – Charity Detail
Casual 4 Kids

Casual 4 Kids is a great opportunity to engage associates in supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. We invite all hotels to participate in this program as an employee engagement activity and is a low lift program for hotels.

How to Fundraise:

  • Submit your intent to participate through the campaign enrollment form on this website to alert your local member hospital you are participating.
  • Casual 4 Kids days are selected by each hotel: weekly, monthly, quarterly, or even just once a year.
  • Post the Casual 4 Kids poster(s) in the heart of the house area(s) for all associates to see with dates of scheduled days and amount of requested donation to participate.

Torch Relay

The Torch Relay for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a unique multi-day event where participants can walk or run a segment of The Torch Relay at events throughout the country to raise money for their local CMN Hospital. Torch Relay events are led by Marriott Business Councils. If your Business Council would like to host a Torch Relay, please contact amoyer@marriott.com.

Business Council Fundraising

Business Councils are encouraged to get involved with their local member CMN Hospital. Fundraising as a Business Council can look many different ways.

  • Your local business council can host an event bringing together the properties in your area as well as the community.
    • Golf Tournament
    • Torch Relay
    • Gala
    • Anything that might be local to your area (Crawfish Boil, St. Patrick’s Day Event, etc.!)

Best Practices

  • Get involved with your local member CMN Hospital! Get involved with your local member CMN Hospital! You can find a list of hospitals and the CMN contact (Program Director) linked here.
  • Partner with your local Program Director to host one of your quarterly business council meetings at your local member hospital and see if they can take BC members on a tour.
  • Create a calendar of events for your local business council you can share with the hospital and invite them to events that are happening through the BC or local properties!
  • Provide fundraising updates at each business council meeting and share out what different properties are doing to inspire ideas.
